NEW SEAT EXEO Barretts SEAT in Canterbury

The sporty and stylish SEAT Exeo saloon has arrived in Barretts SEAT Canterbury.

Tony Keeler said: ‘The Exeo marks SEAT’s debut in the upper medium segment and they have pulled out all the stops to ensure it’s a winner.

‘It looks great, is fantastic to drive and inside it’s packed with special features and creature comforts.

‘Best of all, though, it represents exceptional value for money and will therefore appeal to people’s heads as well as their hearts.’

Based on the Volkswagen Group’s Premium platform the Exeo has an impressive pedigree.

However, engineers and designers at SEAT’s Martorell HQ have used all their skills to ensure the newcomer presents an even stronger challenge to the competition.

And the results are truly impressive. The fruits of their labour is a model that effortlessly combines top quality, both in terms of build and materials, with staggering all-round performance, generous equipment levels, tasteful good looks and, most importantly these days, excellent value for money.

Add to this frugal mpg returns and low CO2 emissions, and its clear ambitious SEAT have a surefire hit on their hands… a car that will appeal to both business and private buyers.

At a glance, the handsome Exeo boasts an athletic stance and sporty styling cues. But the model’s sleek form does not compromise its executive saloon merits.

The luxuriously-appointed cabin makes for an extremely comfortable, yet engaging, driving experience. The front seats can, as an option, have four automatic memory positions, and the seat length offers exceptional leg support. And, in a touch of limousine-like luxury, even the optional rear sunshade can be controlled electrically to reduce incoming glare.

Comfort is further enhanced with the availability of double-thickness door windows, which reduce road noise while improving security, and the option of dual-zone climate control ingeniously powered by solar panels contained in the model’s electric sunroof – another SEAT innovation.

The new car can also feature a sophisticated satellite navigation system with two SD ports, MP3-compatible CD player and a DVD map database of the whole of Western Europe.

Throughout the development process, safety has always been high on the agenda and this becomes obvious with a quick glance at the Exeo’s long list of accident prevention and occupant protection features. Firstly, the advanced optional Bi-Xenon headlights, which provide an intense and even beam, swivel to illuminate the inside of a curve when the car is traveling at a speed of at least seven miles an hour. Then there’s a full complement of safety features including ABS, TCS and ESP +, EBA and tyre pressure monitoring.

But, in the unfortunate event of a collision, occupants are protected by two front airbags, which deploy in two stages depending on the severity of the collision, two front side airbags and two curtain-type head airbags. Options include driver knee airbag and rear side airbags. The car also features active front seat head restraints that protect driver and passenger from whiplash caused by a rear-end collision.

A full suite of turbocharged engines is available and, in a notable ‘first’ for the segment, all meet the tough new Euro V emissions standard. There’s a brace of high-tech common rail turbodiesels pumping out 143 PS and 170 PS respectively and a muscular 200 PS four cylinder turbo petrol.

And with prices starting from just £17,740 for the entry level 2.0 TDI Exeo S the newcomer is a hard act to beat.

XF V6 Diesel

"The new XF V6 Diesel S – combining superb performance and excellent Fuel Economy – sets the pace with acceleration from 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds, a maximum speed of 155mph, yet delivers an average fuel consumption of 42mpg and CO2 emissions of 179g/km: Truly the best of both worlds!"

When it was introduced last year, the XF was recognised as a dramatic expression of a bold new Jaguar design language. It also soon became apparent that here was a car where the driving experience exceeded expectations created by the striking appearance. Now the new XF Diesel takes this driving experience to new levels, shifting the balance even further towards dynamic performance while still retaining the XF´s core values as a refined and luxurious sports saloon.
